Hi, my name is Emma Armes and I am a Client-Centred Clinical Hypnotherapist and an OldPain2Go Master Practitioner and Authorised Trainer.
Client-Centred means that I work with YOU and YOUR needs specifically. The therapy is centred around you, the client and what is best for you. I use many techniques and have lots of “tools in my tool box” as we therapists like to say!
Using a blend of clinical hypnosis, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) we get to the root cause of your issue and together we deal with it and release it for good.
My practice is based in a small village which is only 15 minute drive south of Aberdeen, near Portlethen.
Here in the countryside, a peaceful and calm environment awaits you, where you can be free to relax and be listened to by an empathetic, friendly and professional therapist. Your hypnotherapy session involves us working together to find the best outcome for your issue. Appointments last around 1 ½ – 2 hours so you are not rushed to get out the door and I always leave a good gap between clients also so that there is no added pressure. During your session, YOU are my priority.
I haven’t always been a hypnotherapist. I was a Paramedic for 17 years before I injured my back and had to take medical retirement. I ended up going for hypnotherapy myself and found it so life changing that I realised I had found a new way that I could help people.
I was so impressed by the type of hypnotherapy I received (there are several different types) that I decided to study at the same school that my hypnotherapist had attended despite it being 570 miles away!
So I travelled all the way to Portsmouth to work with amazing Lorraine Gleeson of the Hampshire School of Hypnotherapy – renowned hypnotherapist, trainer and author.
Since completing my Certificates and Diploma I have gone on to do further training including the Hypno-Gastric Band and ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and webinars including parts therapy and working with children. Constant CPD is a requirement of my professional registration which enables me to keep up to date with the latest practices and techniques to give you the best help.
When I’m not working I’m usually doing my other “job” of being a mum to my lively 8 year old son and spending quality time with my husband, who is a Doctor at the local hospital (yes, we met at work all those years ago!) I also sing classical music with a lovely choir based in Aberdeen, enjoy reading and also “Netflix and chill” evenings too.
I offer a half price one hour taster/relaxation session so you can see if hypnotherapy feels right for you.
