“I can’t even explain how much of a difference this has made. I have gone from getting a max of 4 hours sleep a night to at least 7. Even trips away (which was a nightmare and would take me days to adjust) I am getting a normal nights sleep.

PHOBIA – BEES AND WASPS

“I’ve been terrified of bees and wasps since childhood, if I saw one I would panic and run away, flapping my arms. I once even left the pram with my wee one in it. I couldn’t go back in the house when there was one inside and had to call for help. I don’t want to teach my daughter this behaviour.

Now I feel so much better! We’ve been on these sunny days and I wasn’t even bothered about bees or wasps! I haven’t been looking for them (like I was before) I’ve seen a few of them and I’m not worried about them. I’m aware of them but not terrified at all anymore. Thank you so much, I’m delighted, my husbands really noticed a difference – he’s delighted too! I just wished I’d done this sooner!”

FEAR OF FLYING

“Hi Emma, I just wanted to let u know that I was honestly great on both flights to Thailand. Not quite as relaxed coming back as it was a bit bumpy but I knew it was nothing to seriously worry about although a little uncomfortable.

The kids said I was very good (their words) on the way across even almost dozing off. Anyhow my mindset is now that while I’m not a lover of flying especially long hall I can do it and not adamant that I couldn’t do it like I felt before.

“My cousins son had a party at MacDonalds a few weeks ago and I waited outside for them loads of folk passing. I asked the boys if I could pinch their ballons as I wanted to test myself holding them and I was fine. Sat at the back of her van with them in the shopping bags and felt nothing. I was holding it in the car to feel how it felt.

Saw a few kids in union square the other week with the balloon models they were fighting I was going up stairs then down, didn’t feel anything I just laughed at them.

I passed your details to my friend: she told her mum how I didn’t seem scared of balloons anymore and it was amazing. As she knew what I used to be like.”

PHOBIA – FISH

“Hi Emma, how are things with you?
I thought I would send you a wee message as I am not long back from Zante and had a brilliant time. I was walking in the water on the beaches most days and I even went for a dip in the sea a couple of times. If someone told me last year that i would even put a foot in the sea i would have laughed in their faces and told them that their was one chance of that and that was no chance.

Coming to see you was one of the best decisions I have made. So Thank You once again you have made me realise that going in the sea and to the beach is actually fun. I am now enjoying the fun instead of watching at the sidelines.”

What was your biggest fear before booking in to see me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
If you mean what were my expectations of you before I made my first booking. I have to admit I was a bit sceptical but I made the choice to come see you and was pleasantly surprised.

What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
I enjoyed the relaxation element of the session and how you got me to open up. I particularly our discussions at the end to help me make sense of what had just taken place because let’s be honest my mind is a strange place.

If you were to recommend me to your best friend, what would you say?
You can trust Emma to be professional, understanding and caring in her approach to your situation and provide you with the tools necessary to improve your quality of life.

What was your biggest fear before booking in to see me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
My biggest fear was the therapy not working and being left with few options in terms of a remedy.

I have been amazed at the results and couldn’t have hoped for better. My outlook on life has completed changed and I am moving forwards positively, leaving the past where it belongs.

What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
You explained the whole process to me exceptionally well before the sessions took place so I always understood what was going to happen and I guess my favourite part was the intrigue as to what exactly would happen once the process began.

Question 3:
If you were to recommend me to your best friend, what would you say?
I have already recommended you to family members and explained the process to them as I think there are so many other people out there who could benefit from this therapy but may not be aware that it exists.

ANXIETY/DEPRESSION

Question 1:
What was your biggest fear before booking in to see me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
My biggest fear was that the therapy wouldn’t work, or it would fail to relieve me of the pressures and anxieties I was experiencing at the time.


I firmly believe that the therapy has worked for me, and that I have experienced for the first time the power and role that my subconscious plays in affecting my everyday life.

Question 2:
What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
The sessions were well composed, consisting of hypnotherapy framed by pre- and post-discussion. The hypnotherapy itself, if perhaps not a “favourite” part per se, was certainly the most exciting and challenging element.

Question 3:
If you were to recommend me to your best friend, what would you say?
I would highly recommend this to anyone with a comparable situation to that which I was in when I started. I would say they should certainly try it, be open minded, embrace the concept and also, be prepared!

Anxiety/depression

Question 1:
What was your biggest fear before booking in to see me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
I did not have any fear before booking the hypnotherapy session. I had previously had hypnotherapy before and was very much looking forward to the experience. It was so relaxing and really enjoyed the sessions.

What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
For me, it was my very first session. It enlightened me on how powerful hypnotherapy can be. It took me on a journey that has had a life changing impact.

If you were to recommend me to your best friend, what would you say?
I would have to say absolutely try it! You get so much from it.

What was your biggest fear before booking in to see me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
Biggest fear – Being told to do things I didn’t want to do and being out of control! Didn’t come true at all I was totally aware of what was happening throughout

What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
Time to myself. feeling relaxed after the sessions. Time to talk about things on my mind

It works!

“The experience I had this time was absolutely amazing, your voice is very calm and sounds very nice. Hypnotherapy helped me to increase my self esteem and inner confidence. Question 1:
What was your biggest fear before booking in to see me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
Didn’t have any fears about booking – was happy to just what would come up and how it would be dealt with. Found the whole experience enjoyable and even where things were not so easy just knew that it was doing good!

Question 2:
What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
At the end of the first session when we went somewhere fun and happy and stayed there. In my case for several days afterwards I just found myself with the song Don’t Worry Be Happy bouncing around my head in a good and positive way.

Question 3:
If you were to recommend me to your best friend, what would you say?
That your approach is really good as you get to the bottom of the problem, instead of just using affirmations to cover this over, which I feel only works as long as you keep repeating the affirmations if at all.

It leaves you with a sense of lightness as if some heavy burden that has been weighing you down has just been taken away. A real sense of relief. Left session 2 with James Brown I Feel Good in my head and woke up the next day to find the Nina Simone’s Feeling Good was also there and a week later she still is!

I would recommend you to anyone needing help especially where there is underlying emotional baggage.

MOTIVATION/SELF ESTEEM

Question 1:
What was your biggest fear before booking in to see me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
I had tried counselling and been hypnotized before but with mixed results. I was a little sceptical that the sessions with you would be any different.
No it did not come true. The sessions were revelatory with each building on what had gone before. I really believe that my problems were identified for the first time and dealt with in a constructive manner.

Question 2:
What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
The hypnotherapy. I couldn’t remember a lot of what had happened in my past and the fact that I could enter a hypnotic state and start to remember incidents clearly was illuminating and also a bit scary. It was unsettling to begin with for in some respects a door had been opened that seemed to have been closed for a long time but I now believe it was part of the healing process.

If you were to recommend me to your best friend, what would you say?
Emma presents a complete package both in terms of counselling and reaching into the sub conscience to identify repressed or forgotten issues. She performs her task with professionalism, empathy and humour. Highly recommended.

I’m less moody and more like my old self, having a laugh and being fun. Ive been doing lots of swimming and I’m in and out of the pool not fussed, Ive even been helping my nephew get over his fear of the water by jumping in the pool and showing him how its done!”

“I have lost weight and inches, I wore an outfit to a wedding recently that didn’t fit before I went on holiday and when I came back it did and looked great! I had lots of compliments about how good I looked, and I felt great.

When on holiday I was getting up at 7am to go for a walk! I’m just naturally eating less without thinking about it, my IBS is much better and I don’t need my medication anymore, my portion sizes are much smaller, if I go out for dinner then I eat half and take the other half home for the next day!

In other news I have left my negative relationship and feel such a big relief, Im looking forward to the future which has now opened up for me and I have lots of choices. I wouldn’t have been able to be so strong before I came to see you.”

“I met a friend for lunch today, she is like me with eating but we made a deal to have no dessert ahead of time. I had no cravings all day and never thought about food much at all. I never drank a coffee or a diet coke, 2 things I’m trying to cut down/out. I haven’t missed them at all and didn’t realise till later in the day how much water I had been drinking!

My biggest fear was it not working. I felt very relaxed and positive afterwards and could feel myself subtly changing

I laughed so much on way home from my third session. I was so deep in hypnosis, Emma had to try several times to waken me.

Was nervous as didn’t know what to expect, and not sure it would work, was also afraid to deal with issues from my past as I didn’t know how to let them go. I needn’t have worried as Emma put me at ease straight away and I felt comfortable talking to her.

What, specifically, was your favourite part of your sessions, and why?
My favourite part of the sessions was learning how to let go of the issues I hadn’t dealt with and that had plagued me for so long, and I truly felt a great sense of peace within myself when the sessions were complete.

 If you are considering hypnotherapy for any reason, I would highly recommend Emma Armes of Aberdeenshire Hypnotherapy. Open your mind and free yourself. I’ve lost 2 stones so far.
